I put both middle fingers into the air and tell him to sit on it. He isn't worthy of developing a personal relationship with me.

JW Defenders- Is WTS Right to Insist You Stay Away From these Websites?
by OnTheWayOut ini read these threads and there are a few that bend over backwards to say why wts is correct on this issue or that issue.. they act like typical jw's that refuse to acknowledge points that may show that wts is not following the scriptures or that wts goes beyond the scriptures in a way that is not supported by others.. the point could be the blood issue or shunning or whether 1799 or 1914 was the start (or finish?
) of the last days or whether there is a faithful and discreet slave class or not.
i don't want to harp on each point.

What did you dream about doing in the "New System"?
by lurk3r inlife in the new system, did you give it much thought?
sure, we would be brought to perfection, and there would be a resurrection, but how about other things?.
in my years growing up and living as a jw, i never really thought about it that much.

Exactly Bobld! Because this world is so dark to dubs, the opposites (no sickness, death, sin etc) seems like heaven. But they never go into detail. It's always: I'm looking forward to no crime. I'm looking forward to seeing loved ones. I'm looking forward to living forever. And I say, living forever doing what? There has to be a limit on things we can and can't do or else we'd threaten the system. If we built machines to do our work for us wouldn't that count as laziness to jerkovah? So far all I see coming out of the new system is: Farming, petting animals we couldn't before, building our own houses, and talking with ressurected people about what their time period was like (even though such things wouldn't matter at that point). There is no television, internet, music, movies, video games and the like, but if by some slim chance there is, they wouldn't encompass all that they do today. Queen said it best: "Who wants to live forever? Who dares to live forever?"

Does anyone else find it odd..............
by Vachi 8 He Is inthat out of the billions of people here on earth god "speaks" to people who are not only in the same country, not only in the same state, not only in the same city, not only in the same building, but all hold high positions within said building?
i mean i'm sure he's not speaking to the mailroom guy or the literature assembly line guy.
he speaks to the ones who hold office within this company.. this is what i said to my aunt, and her reply?

That out of the billions of people here on Earth god "speaks" to people who are not only in the same country, not only in the same state, not only in the same city, not only in the same building, but all hold high positions within said building? I mean I'm sure he's not speaking to the mailroom guy or the literature assembly line guy. NO! He speaks to the ones who hold office within this company.
This is what I said to my aunt, and her reply? "Well they're annointed...."
I fire back "Who says they are?"
I forgot how we ended up here but initally I started out asking about why it was necessary to announce to the cong that X person is "no longer a witness". I told her that the only reason for doing so would be to justify what their actions would be from that point forward. To ignore and shun because the dubs have labeled them worldly and bad association. This was 2 weeks ago. Now last week in a talk, a dub was talking about maturity levels and said something to the effect that it would be embarassing for a boss to repremand someone publicly and it shows a lack of maturity. IMMEDIATELY I go WTF! in my mind, as the witnesses do this all the time when it comes to DF ones. They also make a big deal out of spirirtual maturity and use the analogy of a baby and milk. How time goes on and after a while the baby moves on to more solid food and we should be the same way progressing further in the truth. Again I go "bloody hell" in my mind because it seems to be that dubs are the MOST formula addicted babies I've ever seen in my life. How long have they been toting that "these are the last days" and "keep on the watch"? Umm.....as far back as I can remember. (sidebar: Actually, being prepared for the "coming armeggedon" negates the whole "coming as a thief in the night" thing. If one is prepared, how then, can it come as a thief?) How many of the same acrticles have been regurgitated in literature? It urks me to no end that even the simplest red flags don't even go off when they present something that if a dub was paying attention could see.

You tell them to read the lyrics of the song "Numb" by Linkin Park and to apply it to the situation. And if that doesn't work you can go full on Clint Eastwood and tell them to "Get off my lawwwnnn!"

Can anyone make sense of this? I am trying a new method to circumvent Cognitive Dissonance
by BonaFide inthis is what happened to me a few minutes ago as i came home.
i live in a almost 100% jw apartment complex, so i have a lot of contacts with witnesses every day, apart from meetings and service.. so i have been trying with a few friends to use a "third person" that doesn't exist, to try and get them to reason.. here an example of what happened today outside my apartment:.
friend: "hey bonafide, what's going on?

What are the Major Issues with Jehovah's Witnesses?
by AllTimeJeff init's safe to say that in most instances, it appears that the catalyst for the final move away from jw's, the real start of a road toward a jw exit, is something that affected you personally, whether that was you or a loved one/family member.
we hit our personal bs level, can't take it anymore,.
then we start to examine the flaws of jw dogma.. i would suggest that most do not start a jw exit because they examine the dogma on a personal study project and find out that something isn't right.

I want to take every religion that has this kind of thought structure and crush the hell out of it, but then.....I'd have to get rid of the people too. He is REALLY lucky.

My final straw was when my grandmom passed in 2003. She raised me since birth so in actuality she was my mom but had grandmom tendacies. Namely, not treating her kids the same way she treated me. She had been 'in the truth' since at least 1980. Because of 'failure to launch' issues I have (even now) I was sent into Job Corps once in 1995 and then again in 1999. When I came out of Job Corps in 2000 I was not allowed back home and had to rely on other family members, other family members who because of them being "part of this world" couldn't relate to me, nor I them. It was during this stay that I prayed and prayed for something to happen in my life that would say that I want to and can do it if given time to adjust to being 'out of the box' for the first time. Given gods supposed power I did not think this was outside the realm of possibility or that it was too much to ask. I obtained my CDL in 2001 and thought this may be the springboard to getting back to familiar territory, it was not. Every place I looked wanted people with experience. And locally, jobs weren't easy to find. However I worked at two telemarketing companies after driver training. I didn't quit those jobs but if you aren't getting people to give you money over the phone, you aren't viable to them and they let me go. I knew my moms health was going. I had one of those dreams where I could see me in third person. My great aunt and great uncle (people I was staying with) in this dream could not wake me up. I was dead. (end dream) I would call every now and then to talk to my grandmom but it was never anything good I could give her. I didn't like where I was staying and she knew about it, but I didn't want to make her feel any worse by my complaining. So, that day in 2003 I didn't call her. Hours later I get the call by my uncle (the one that stayed with her) that she was gone. He and his sister (my grandmoms kids) came home and found she'd died in her sleep. Turns out the dream I had the week earlier wasn't about my death but hers. I wanted to know why. Why didn't god do what I asked him to do? It was a simple task of helping me achieve some amount of success so that I could be home again. I started chain smoking. I'm totally devoid of any relationships but even if I had one it would suffer because I'd be distant to the worldy girl, and that leaves a JW whose truth I don't believe in anymore. I look back and see all the things I couldv'e been doing that would've displeased that good-for-zero, son of a b***h Jehovah but refrained from because of my upbringing. And I'm like: What was it for? What IS it for? Why do I walk this Earth surrounded by people but still feel alone? Of course I know I'm not alone, you guys have been hurt too, but it still doesn't make me feel any more positive. And when I say alone I mean a type of purgatory where I don't belong in either system of things. I hate how god was always answering the other people who asked 'why' even if it meant unconventional methods (i.e. burning bush, talking donkey, Isaac and Jacob, Israelites, King Solomon) yet here I have, for the most part, stayed away from what he has attitudes with, and this.....THIS is the thanks I get? F**k him! All I know is, he is REALLY lucky being a spirit. *walks away blasting "Numb" by Linkin Park on iPod*

You're trained not to think for yourselves. Anytime the dubs are talking about the way the world is I guarantee it's usually followed by the man can't direct his own step speech. But get this: If god would get off his ass and bring about this utopia that is the paradise that dubs hold so dear then maybe, just maybe, man wouldn't have to try to direct his step so much. But as it turns out god (of the bible) is a frakkin deadbeat. It's like if you went to a train station. You have somewhere you want to go right? You get to the platform and wait for the train. After a few moments you go up to somebody and ask "When is the train supposed to come?" They respond "It's coming very soon." So, trusting in what you have just been told, you turn to the bench and wait. More time passes. You go up to someone else and ask them if they have anymore info on the trains arrival then the previous inquired person. Their response, "It'll be here shortly." After a while you're going to get tired of waiting around and go on about your business. The reason why this religion works, is because of the whole "Soon, very soon" thing. This is the key to sustaining all of this. "Soon, very soon" is enticing. It makes you think you're on the brink of this system being gone and you need to get in AND FAST!! Another example: You've seen the Sham-Wow! commercial right? They talk all this marvelous stuff about this product. How it holds multiple times its weight in water. How olympic divers use it to dry their skin. How it'll save your carpet from nasty stains and mildew. How you can use it to dry your sweaters, dogs, dishes, for shower mat......How the Germans always makes good stuff. And then comes the hard sell. "We'll give you 2 big Sham-Wows and 2 little Sham-Wows for $19.95, but if you CALL RIGHT NOW, because WE CAN'T DO THIS ALL DAY...." Freeze! This statement is designed to make you believe that after a short amount of time, they won't be offering the special deal where you get 8 Sham-Wows for $19.95. And this very same commercial has been running since at least January. That's not just all day, it's been all of 6 months or more. Another thing the commercial says is that the product is "NOT SOLD IN STORES". Well I don't know about you, but I can go to my local CVS Pharmacy and find the item in question in a STORE. The CO is at my local KH and Thursday the whole thing was about "not slipping away, not drifting off into a dangerous situation. This statement is designed to preemtive strike against and sever any thought that one may have about leaving the cong. The reason: To sustain their numbers and get other victims. They'll even tell you about how Satan can transform into a beacon or angel of light. And yet, I can't even count how many demonstrations I've seen where the "householder" intially told the dub their stance and the dub found a way to get around that! Of course the "householder" is NEVER standoffish and also never lets their No mean No. Even while stating their stance they ALWAYS have this underlying inquisitive nature. I mean it's extremely sitcomish. I'm pretty sure god doesn't have guts, but if he did, I'd be hating every spirit cell of them.

So our Circus Overseer is visiting......Lucky us.
by Vachi 8 He Is inand he goes "the society has been wrasslin' with the idea of a 'family study night' as opposed to the disbanded 'book study night' for two years.
" first, on average, no one at the cong would know whether this was true or not but because he's a co he obviously has more of a direct relationship with the bruhddahs in ny.
second, didn't the dubs already have something like this?

First, on average, no one at the cong would know whether this was true or not but because he's a CO he obviously has more of a direct relationship with the bruhddahs in NY. Second, didn't the dubs already have something like this? Oh yeah, it was called "turn the tv off kids, I'm feeling religious now" There are dub families out here who have mock meetings where they sit down and rehearse what they are going to say, given the oppurtunity at the hall. So here's what they've done: The hall is like the central hub, and book studies took place in the surrounding neighborhoods. Whereas before, someone who has the misfortune of being drawn to this sham-wow religion, were able to go to some dubs house in their neighborhood, now they have to trek a further distance to the hall. It would be the same as taking all the Best Buys except for five and doing away with them. If one has a product they wish to sell they'd want to branch out through many avenues and tell people, not concentrate and localize it. Of course my dub aunt gives the theory that people don't have as much time as they used to. Negative! As dubs practically whack anything that doesn't have to do with studying and going forth to make duh-siples, they had nothing but time.
